About Alice Work

Alice taught science in Knoxville (TN) public schools; was personnel training officer for TVA; was active in Girl Scouts. She began ceramics work in 1954 as a hobby; that led to taking classes at Idaho State College and later at the Potter's Wheel in Westport, CT. She started a shop, Work House, in 1958; later moved it to TX when her husband retired.
Alice also makes jams, jellies, and chutney because of her interest in new and exotic fruits. Alice resided in Golden Palms Retirement Center in Harlingen, TX, after her husband's death.
