Allardus Bartholomeus Coopman first appears in the muster rolls in the year 1698.
On 2nd December 1710 (1STB 18/155, page 216) he is stated to have been employed, along with Jan Fredrik Pons, by Hans Conterman. He made a cross mark in place of a signature.
It looks like he died about 1720 - his last appearance in the muster rolls is in 1719. There is no roll extant for 1720.
The parents of Allardus Bartholomeus Coopman - Richard Ball
In the muster roll of 1704, VC 49, page 67, his name is given as Alardus Bartholomeus Jansz, Koopman. He was born in Utrecht according to the Stellenbosch marriage register, 1709. It looks to me very likely that he was a son of Bartholomeus Jansz Coopman, arriving at the Cape with his father as a child. But I have not yet been able to find a baptism for him in Utrecht or any other evidence of relationship.
