Deatherage, Allen TN 5th (McKenzie's) Cav. Co. B (Roster of Confed. Sol. 1861-1865) Enlisted 4 Mar 1862 at Knoxville, TN. by J.M. Kincaid for 12 months, a Pvt. Age 16 on 12 Mar 1864 Roll. [The roll taken 12 Mar 1864 was taken to prepare a memorial roll of Tennesseeans who served in the Confederate Army. In the case of the 5th Tennessee Calvary Regiment, the roll was taken while the army was in winter quarters at Tunnel Hill (Dalton), GA. Tom McMurray believes that in many cases the age reported during this roll was the age at enlistment and not the age in 1864.] Discharged 8 Jan 1863, being under age. Tom McMurray believes this is Allen Martin Deatherage, b. 17 Dec 1845, son of # 76 v. George Milton and Parthenia Ann McPherson Deatherage. George was in McMinn Co, TN in 1860.
