Lewiston – Allen Howard Smalley, 47, a resident of Jay, died Tuesday, December 24th at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a long illness. He was born January 10, 1966 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of William H. Smalley and Minnie (Wheeler) Smalley. He attended school in New Haven, Connecticut. Allen had worked at the chicken farms in Connecticut, drove bus and at Loudon Speedway in New Hampshire. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on cars, driving, fixing computers and playing games. He especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother, Minnie Groder of Canton and stepfather Ken Groder of Jay; his brother, Pat Smalley and his wife Donna of Jay; his sisters, Anna Crockett of Jay; and Ollie Parker and companion Scott Presby of Farmington; stepdaughters, April Gill and husband David and May Starry and husband Mike all of Lynne, Connecticut; nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
