Alma Hamer

MITCHELL -- Georgia H. Wilcox, 97, Mitchell, died at 11:50 a.m. Monday at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center.

Born in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of George Albert and Alma (Palmer) Hamer. She married Oren M. Wilcox Jan. 10, 1919, and he died May 14, 1974.

Surviving are one son, George T. Wilcox of Mitchell; one sister, Priscilla Hamer Knight of Mitchell; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters: Barbara Ruth Branson and Mary Ann Wilcox; one son, Oren Hamer Wilcox; two brothers: John and Frank Hamer; and one granddaughter.
