Graveside services for Mrs. Altha E. Smith, 91, of Nampa, who died Saturday, April 25, 1992, at her home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1992, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Rev. Russell Hendrickson, pastor of the Nampa First Baptist Church will officiate. Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Altha E. Smith was born on October 18, 1900, in Brigham City, Utah, to Hubert and Emma Kaiser Page, She was reared and educated in Boise. She attended business college in Boise for one year. She married Forrest E. Smith on April 9, 1919, in Boise. They resided in Boise until 1929 when they moved to Nampa. Altha worked as a receptionist for Dr. Joseph Salver for 13 1/2 years. She was a lifetime member of the Baptist church. She also served as secretary-treasurer of the Nampa Pioneer Birthday Club for many years until they discontinued in early 1992. She was also very proud to be a Navy mother during World War II. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, DeForrest E. and Ruth Smith of Nampa, Richard P. and Ellen Smith of Boise, and Donald P. and Jessie Smith of Crescent City, CA; four sisters, Gertrude Palmer and Florence Anderson, both of Scotts Valley, CA, Gwendolyn Cooley of Palo Alto, CA, and Adelaide Paige; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 21, 1977, and three brothers, Tom, DeForest and Lamar Page. Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m., Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Colorado, MG Research, P.O.
