Alvin Brockway

Alvin Brockway, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Crawfordville, FL. He was born June 17, 1931 in Rome the son of the late Benjamin and Isabelle Cushing Brockway. He was married to the late Kathryn Anderson Brockway. She passed away on April 18, 1999.

Al enlisted in the US Army in 1949 and served his country until 1952. He earned a Purple Heart in the Korean War. He worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for over 25 years, retiring in 1976.

Al is survived by twin daughters, Susan (David) Tuttle of Cleveland, NY, and Mary (Leonard) Wagoner of Crawfordville, FL; a son, Michael (Sandy) Brockway of Holland Patent; a brother, James (Diane) Brockway of Rome; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
