About Alyce Lenore Kagy

Alyce Lenore Kagy, 90, of Findlay, entered into Eternal rest on Monday, July 2, 2018 in her home. She was born on October 26, 1927 in LaRue, Ohio to the late James and Verdie (Glaser) Baker. Alyce graduated in 1945 from McComb High School and later graduated in 1948 as a registered nurse from Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. On September 26, 1948 she married Lloyd E. Kagy in McComb. They were happily married for 68 years. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2017.

Alyce retired in 1995 after 46 years of nursing. She worked at Blanchard Valley Hospital, two doctor's offices, the County Home and was the Hancock County Health nurse for 25 years.

Alyce was a member of the Mother of Twins Club and was mother of the year in 1961. She also participated in Child Life Circle, Farm Bureau Council and was a Camp Fire Leader for 5 years. Alyce taught Sunday school at Parkview Church of Christ and was on the missions committee at McComb Church of Christ. Alyce was a member of Altrusa International and over the years she made hundreds of apple dumplings for their annual Apple Festival. Alyce volunteered for 25 years as a nurse for the American Red Cross in their blood drives.

Alyce lived a life of serving others. She loved to cook, bake and provide meals for everyone. Flowers were her passion and always had a large vegetable garden. Alyce enjoyed camping and travel. In 1995 she and Lloyd drove to Alaska and the Arctic Circle.

Alyce is survived by her 3 daughters, Jane (John) Lengel of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Janet (David) Rozelle of Plain City, Ohio, and Julie (Mark) Anderson of Evans, Georgia; 9 grandchildren, Justin Rozelle, Ashley (Ryan) Braucksieck, Jessica (Austin) Dunlap, Kristen, John E., Matthew, and David Lengel, Sarah and Victoria Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren, Evan and Hadley Dunlap, and Benjamin Braucksieck.

Friends and family may visit on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 1-2:30 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Rick Broughton officiating. Interment will follow in McComb Union Cemetery.
