A. L. BURLESON DIED SUNDAY AT BERKELEY

Ambrose L. Burleson, a graduate of the University of California and a resident of Berkeley for many years, died in his home at 1109 Parker Street Sunday morning, death terminating a series of heart attacks suffered by the deceased for some time.

Mr. Burleson was the husband of Dorothy Burleson of Berkeley, brother of Charles R. Burleson, Leone Matthewson and Dorothy H. Burleson, all of Gridley. He was the elder son of the late W. D. Burleson and Frances Evelyn Burleson, step-son of the late Jessie V. Burleson.

Mr. Burleson was a steam combustion engineer specialist, also qualified as an electrical and civil engineer. At the time of retirement several years ago he was an engineer on the Bechtel Co. Staff.

He was born in the same community in which his father was born, Hanover, Michigan.

A. L. Burleson attended the local schools. He married Dorothy Noyes of Lincoln.

The deceased was an accomplished painter, one painting that he painted as a youth of 14 has been hanging on the front office wall of the Herald for many years.

Private funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p. m. today in the little Chapel of the Flowers in Berkeley. Cremation will follow with inurnment taking place in the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery at a later date. – Transcribed by E.
