America Prater

In the 1870 census, nine-year-old "America Baily" lived with her parents, though the census-taker mistakenly listed her mother's name as "Lucy."

In the 1880 census, America Bailey was thirteen years old, living in Meadows, Kentucky with her parents, Joseph and Jennie. The census makes it clear she was born in Kentucky.

In 1900 America lived in Meadows with her husband, James Prater, and seven children.
