Andres graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1928 with a degree in civil engineering, magna cum laude. He wrote Plane-coordinates Based on the Lambert Conformal Projection and on the Transverse Mercator Projection with Applications in the Philippine Islands, which was published by Cornell University in 1936.
