Andrew Arnold Sr b. about 1734 in Germany's Baden state at Zuzenhausen to Johann Georg Arnold Sr. & Anna Eva Maria "Mary" Barth. He also immigrated with his parents. He became a member of the German Baptist denomination (Dunkard), and was an active member of its congregation in Maryland's Frederick County at Middletown. He was married about 1755 somewhere to Catherine Stoner. (His family should not be confused with that of his older brother Daniel who married Catharine's sister Agnes who bore children with similar names at about the same time in about the same place.) Andrew & Catharine resided initially in Maryland's Frederick County. He engaged in at least 24 land transactions from 1756 to 1803 in Maryland's Frederick County; his first purchase was on 1756 Mar 26 for a tract named "Nazareth" from Joseph Chapeline, which he & Catherine sold on 1759 May 22 to Adam Naile. He was ordered in 1765 Aug by Frederick County's court to investigate building a road from Andrew Livingstone's mill "to the main road that leads from Frederick Town to Antietam" in response to a petition. He was fined 10 pounds on 1776 Apr 11 by Frederick County's Committee of Observation for refusing to enroll in his local militia for religious reasons, but this committee reduced this fine to 8 pounds on 1776 Jun 04. He resided in 1787 in Maryland's Frederick County at Monocacy Bergen, according to minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Brethren Church that he attended that year at Pipes Creek. He appears in the U. S. census for 1800 in Maryland's Frederick County. He & Catharine sold their remaining Maryland land---specifically, both "Small Expense" (318 acres) and "Resurvey on Stricklers Timber Land Enlarged" (284 acres) ---on 1803 Jun 09 to their son David for 2000 pounds. They then relocated by Apr 16, 1806, to Virginia's Botetourt County, when Andrew bought land there on Looneys Creek. He & Catharine sold land on Jul 03, 1815. in Virginia's Botetourt County to their son Daniel. Andrew became a widower shortly thereafter in 1815. He recorded his last will and testament on Jan 02, 1811, in Virginia's Botetourt County, which lists 10 children, and it was proved in Feb. 1821. So, he died about 1821 Feb in Virginia's Botetourt County
