Andrew K. Skutley, 88, of Route 1 Hixton died at Black River Memorial Hospital July 12. He was born in Jackson County in the Curran Valley area January 1, 1885, to Mr. and Mrs. Knute Skutley. He owned and operated the Skutley Mill in sechlerville before his retirement. Survivors include a son, Richard L., Eau Claire; two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Rasmussen, Eau Claire, Mrs. E. Guy Cutshall, Hixton; one brother, Nels, Eau Claire; one sister, Mrs. Belle Olson, Minneapolis; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services wee conducted from the United Methodist Church, Hixton on Sunday with Rev. Calvin Carey officiating. Burial was in Sechlerville Cemetery. The Jensen Funeral Home, Hixton was in charge of arrangements. Obituary found in the Banner Journal, Black River Falls, WI, July 18, 1973.
