About Angela de Cota
From Findagrave.com:
Angela de León was born at El Fuerte, Nueva Vizcaya, New Spain, about 1710. She was still at El Fuerte when she married soldado de cuera ("leather jacket") Andrés Cota about 1724, and this was where her children were born. When her husband was transferred to Loreto, Baja California, about 1748, she and the children accompanied him. Andrés died at Loreto sometime before 1762 and Angela lived with her married daughter María Loreta (Cota) Morras. Angela´s four sons, Roque, Antonio, Andrés, and Pablo, all enlisted at Loreto as soldados de cuera and served in the California presidios. Her daughters, María Loreta and María Josefa, both married soldados de cuera. Angela was buried near her husband in the cemetery at Loreto about 1765.
