About Ann Armer-Waver

Ann L. Waver, 89, of Amsterdam NY, has gone to her eternal rest on Wednesday September 21st, 2016.

Born on June 25th, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Hazel Snyder and Ralph Lipe. Ann is a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. It was during her high school years that she developed an affinity to music, piano in particular. She spent 14 years employed with the former Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in the medical records department before earning her retirement in 1990. Ann was a faithful parishioner of the United Methodist Church in Amsterdam and was also a member of their United Methodist Women group. Ann carried on with her love for music inspiring and teaching it to her daughter Janice. She went on to play for the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra and was a musician for the Order of the Eastern Star’s Artwell, Otsquago, and Broadalbin Chapter 408. She played for various churches in the area and once a month would play piano for communion service at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility alongside Rev. Jerry Kauffman. Music was a passion for Ann; she had a talent that came naturally.

Ann was honest, strong willed, and was a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed by her family and close friends. She enjoyed solving word searches, and attending church. She loved to spend time with her granddaughter and her family. She adored animals especially Jax, a yorkie shih-tzu that was more like family than a pet.

Ann is survived by her daughter Janice Armer of Amsterdam; her sons Bill Armer of Mayfield and Bruce (Ruth) of Sprakers; her grandchildren Faye Lynn (Desiree) Carpenter, Brian (Maggy) Armer, and Nona Lane; her great granddaughter Grace Carpenter; and “Her baby” A’Myah. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Waver and her loving parents Hazel and Ralph Lipe.
