About Ann Hester
A copy of Ann's Will outlining her estate and naming some of her children and grandchildren is in file.
Documents indicating the disposal of her husband James' estate, and an inventory of that estate is in file.
Documents indicating litigation betwen her and her sons, except Benjamine, are in file, the husband's of her daughters were also involved in the litigation. She was not allowed to use her Husband James's estate until her death but had to dispose of the property to her sons, except Benjamine who made no claim, and the husbands of her daughters, as a result of the court action. She took her widow's dower and amassed another "fortune" which she left to her son Benjamine and his children and to her daughter Piety Finch's children whom, she named in her will. However, Piety and her husband received nothing in the will, neither did any of her other children, or grandchildren.
There is no record of Benjamine Hester claiming any of his father's property in the court action against his mother, Ann Hester, although Richardson Finch, the husband of Piety, did claim property in the litigtion.
Copies of the will, deed transactions, inventory and litigation are in file.
