Ann Mowbray

Alive in 1725.

While she appears on the Craster pedigree at https://archive.org/stream/historyofnorthum02nort#page/178/mode/2up her marriage to Samuel Mowbray does not. His wife was certainly called Ann. The reason for supposing him to have married Ann Craster is that he had a son called Daniel; a Daniel Craster Mowbray was one of his grandsons, and the first name Craster then appears with regularity (as does the name Daniel) among future Mowbrays. Samuel was reasonably well off (he describes himself as a "gentleman"). His wife Ann is the only Mowbray wife whose surname is not (so far) known from a wedding register. The conclusion must be (although it is not fully proven) that the Craster connection with the Mowbrays is here.
