Ann Kearney of Uxbridge daughter of James and Ann Kearney....and coincidentally, Patrick Brady borrowed money when in Uxbridge, $1000 a lot of money, from a Rose and Ann Kiernan, according to Dad's records. Why would Ann Kiernan lend money to young whippersnapper unless he was the husband of the sister (Catherine Mulligan Brady) of the husband (Cornelius Mulligan) of...her daughter Ann Kearney Mulligan?
To put it another way, if Kearney and Kiernan are the same name--and must be, no women were running around willy nilly handing out $1000 in those days as a business, this had to be a family transaction....Ann Kierney gave money to her son in law Cornelius Mulligan's nephew, Patrick.
For it is looking good that Cornelius and Edward Brady were buddies in Ireland, we have records of them leasing land one lot over from each other in the tiny town of Littlewood, Westmeath, Ireland in 1855. Then there is a lull....and Patrick Brady son of Edward and one Catherine MULLIGAN shows up in RI; then in 1874, he is in Uxbridge, buying land on streets Dad has the record for--and borrowing money from Kiernans. And there were many Kiernans in the wee town of Littlewood, Westmeath. And Patrick's father's good friend--and likely Uncle--Cornelius Mulligan not only not so coincidetnally had also bought land in Uxbridge two years or so earlier, but he was married to an Ann Kiernan...and an Ann Kiernan promptly loaned a huge amount of money to Patrick.
So conceivably, when Cornelius Mulligan came over with his with Ann Kiernan Mulligan, he brought with him his mother in law Ann Kiernan Sr., and her sister Rose? OR...that "Rose" is wrong and it is a man's name.
May 2017 update...Dad thinks Cormelius Mulligan was married to Ann Heavy. i think "Heavy" is the same as "Kearny" is the same as "Kiernan."
