• Council in Ireland, 1549; recalled for quarreling with Con Bacach O'Neill, first Earl of Tyrone (Froude's History). He married Jane, eldest daughter of Sir Peter Warburton, of Arley; remarried to Sir Lawrence Smith, of Hough; died in 1561. By her had one son, William, his heir and five daughters: 1, Mary, unmarried; 2, Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Venables, of Kinderton; 3, Jane, wife of John Legh, of Booths; 4, Anne, wife of Sir Thomas Smith, Mayor of Chester, 1596, Sheriff of Cheshire 1600; 5, Susannah, unmarried.

He married Margaret, daughter of Sir John Savage, K. G., of Clifton. Kent, by his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas, first Earl of Rutland.
