Annie born in Norfolk. Came to London to go into service. I think other members of her family also came down to London, no proof yet. She was a strict Baptist, and would not do any work, even cooking on a Sunday. Whether she became more religious through her husband or was before they met we do not know. Think they met through the church in Fulham.
All the Religious books I now have that were handed down, actually came from Walters family.
Annie always came once a month to visit us. My father, her eldest son William Ralph, always took her once a month to a special Communian Service at the Baptist Church in Ealing.
She sufferred very badly for 40 years with arthritis. She did like people to wait on her and could be quite frustrating. She did a lot of knitting. Hated Television, especially Cowboys and Indians - definitely not on a Sunday.
Her Arthritis got so bad towards the end of her life that she had to have some of her toes removed.
One comment she made about Smoking - she said if God had meant people to smoke, then he would have given us all a chimney. She was buried in 1969 in South Ealing, London, England. She died on 13 Jul 1969. She was also known as Maria when first born. [provided by Sue Allchin]
