About Anna Marie Matilda Nielsen
Known as Bestamoa to her great grandchildren. She told me the most difficult thing in her life was living longer than some of her children. She was "hired out as a servant" when she was a child in Iowa. She had friends who would visit and speak with her in Danish. I saw a picture of her as a babe in arms with her family in front of a sod house on the Iowa prairie. She lived thru electricity, telephone, radio, automobile, airplanes, television and saw a man walk on the moon. I used to sit and help her shell peas for dinner and she would tell me stuff. She grew african violets.
