About Anna Napier
Anna Napier was born in 1560 in Dumbartonshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Robert Napier, 1st Laird of Culcreuch by Anna, daughter of Sir William Drummond, 3rd Laird of Riccarton.[1]
In 1595, at 34 years old, Anna Napier married Walter "of Disheour" Leckie, a younger son of Walter Leckie, 9th Laird of Leckie, at Leckie Hall, Stirlingshire, Scotland. They lived at Disheour Hall (today called "Dasher Farm") a property one mile west of Leckie Hall near Kipper, Stirlingshire, Scotland, just south of Loch Lomond. They had one daughter, Elizabeth Leckie, born April 1595, at Dasher/Disheour, near Leckie in Stirlingshire. No other children are reported for the couple. Walter Leckie died shortly thereafter, leaving Elizabeth to be raised by her grandfather and his second wife, whom he married in 1597 at 61 years old, Margaret Livingston. Widow Anna (Napier) Leckie lived at Dasher/Disheour near Kippen until February 28, 1656.[2]
