About Anna Sever
Anna Geron Sever, formerly of Forest City, died July 11 at Palm Gardens of Pinellas, Largo, Fla. She and her husband, Anthony Adam Sever, were married June 30, 1934. He died Feb. 8, 1984, just months before their 50th wedding anniversary.
Born April 18, 1915, in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Anufry and Suzanna Hrebin Geron. A Florida resident for more than 30 years, she was a previous resident of Kearny, N.J., and Forest City. She worked as a bookbinder and retired from Prudential Insurance in Newark, N.J., in 1974. Anna was a member of the Catholic Daughters and numerous walking groups, pinochle and bridge card-playing groups. Her homemaking and baking skills won rave reviews from everyone. She loved life and dancing.
She will be missed by her close friends, Julie Scott and Juliet Lewis, of Aging Wisely Inc., Clearwater, Fla., who have provided loving care management for almost six years. Also helping her cope with dementia was the staff at Palm Gardens of Pinellas.
She is survived by a son, Anthony D. Sever and wife, Judi, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; a brother, Joseph "JoJo" Hludzik and wife, Hanka, Linden, N.J.; two grandchildren, Susan Sever, Jacksonville, Fla.; Andrew Sever and wife, Andrea, of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; many nieces, nephews and cousins across the country, and close friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Sever, Guilford, Conn., in May; a sister, Helen Sofie, Summit, N.J.; brothers Michael Geron, Moosic; and John Hludzik, Old Forge.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment, parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for half an hour before Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Foundation Inc., 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, or the donor's favorite charity.
