Anna Maria Huffman was born in Bedford county, the part that later became Westmoreland County, PA. She was the daughter of Johan Adam and Anna Maria Huffman. About 1788, she married John Peter Walter Sr (her cousin) and they moved their family to Irwin Township, Venango County where she and Peter died and are buried. Peter and Anna were the parents of 10 children, most of whom were born and baptised in Bedford/Westmoreland County:
