Disputed Origins

Ann's birth date and place are unknown. Her parents and maiden name are also unknown.[1] She is called only "Anne" by William Crozier and also by Virginia Gardner.[2]

She was probably born about 1615 at England. Birth date is a guess, based on her estimated marriage date.

User-contributed online date bases assume she was baptized on 7 Feb 1608 at Wetherby, England (without evidence) or in 1610? at Giggleswick, Kirk Deighton, Yorkshire, England (without evidence) - and that her maiden name was Ellis (without evidence, source is U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900). Joseph Ellis and Nancy Masterson have been detached as parents.
