Biography

Anna Green was born in 1755 in Craven County, Province of South Carolina, British America in an area which later became District 96 and eventually Spartanburg District and is president day Cherokee County. She was the daughter of Joseph Green and Mary (McEntire) Green. Anna married Revolutionary War Soldier, Robert McAfee in 1772 in the same area where she was born.
Anna is mentioned in her father's will as Anne Green when it was drawn up on 29 September1771 in Tryon County, North Carolina. When his will was proved in Tryon (later Lincoln) County in January 1772, she was married and was his only child not to be appointed a guardian by the court. The court appointed James McEntire "Guardian of Orphan Children"::Ordered by the Court that James McENTIRE Esq'r be appointed Guardian of::William GREEN, age 19yrs according to his choice in open court also of
:Abraham GREEN, age 12yrs
:Isaac GREEN, age 10yrs
:Mary GREEN, age 7yrs
:Jacob GREEN, age 5yrs
:Joseph GREEN, age 3yrsAll "Orphans" under the Age of Fourteen years, children of Joseph GREEN, deceased the Guardian proposes for security Samuel RICHARDSON, John STANFORD, Robert McAFEE, (S-I-L married 1st Dau Anna GREEN) bound in the sum of Seventeen hundred pounds proclamation money. Accepted.
