Obituary for Anne S. Macchi

Anne Struik Macchi, wife of the late Robert Macchi of Arlington, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17th after celebrating her 88th birthday earlier this month.

She is survived by her four children: Ruth Ann Malone and her husband Jimmy of Quincy, Kathy Macchi and her partner Faye of Austin, TX, Richard Macchi, his wife Debra, and their son Sam of Belmont, and Kevin Macchi and his wife Lisa of North Reading.

She is also survived by two sisters, Dr. Rebekka Struik of Colorado, Dr. Gwen Struik Bray of New Zealand, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends whose lives she touched.

Anne is the daughter of the late Drs. Dirk and Sally Ruth Struik both mathematicians and teachers.

Anne grew up in Belmont, graduated from Lesley College to pursue her career as an educator. As a teacher she offered loving support while maintaining high expectations. She was also a lifelong volunteer with the Arlington schools and libraries.

Friends and family may gather to celebrate her life and share memories on Thursday, September 20th from 3-7 pm, at 10 Alder Way in Bedford, MA.
