Anne Louise Van Hoomissen

Anne Louise Van Hoomissen (Gaffney) 91, of Danville California a beloved wife, mother, nana, great grandmother, aunt, and friend died peacefully while surrounded by her family August 30, 2017.
Born on March 22, 1926 in Portland, Oregon she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Gaffney.
John E. Van Hoomissen, her husband of 54 years preceded her in death in 2009.
She is survived by her seven children David (Mary), Anne (Jerry), Sara (Dale), Matthew (Peggy), Mary, John (Susie) and Paul (Debbie), twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Anne Louise was a long time resident of Danville after leaving her childhood home of Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Madeline High School in Portland, OR and Lone Mountain College (USF) in 1948.
She was actively engaged with her Catholic faith, loved to spend time with family or friends, travel, and was an outspoken participant on a variety of subjects.
Anne Louise was the driving force behind 14 years of summer "beach trips" that strengthened the bonds of family.
Anne Louise's love for God and family was constant and she will be missed.
Her celebration of life will be held at St. Joan of Arc Parish at 10:30am, Saturday, September 16, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Vincent de Paul fund at St. Joan of Arc parish or St. Mary's Center in Oakland, CA.
Honoring her wishes there will be a private internment at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
