Annice "Nellie" Sophia Sedgebeer

Annice "Nellie" Sophia Anderson was born 10/30/1849 in Sweden and immigrated to USA about 1856 she died in California on 2/3/1940 and was buried in Sunset View Cemetery according to the Berkeley Daily Gazette. She and her daughter, Mary Anna Anderson (from a previous marriage) had been employed in the Painesville, Ohio household of Joseph and Mirza Sedgebeer. Nellie caught the eye of the divorced son of Joseph and Mirza, Charles Mortimer Sedgebeer. They wed about 1880 in Tennessee. Charles and Nellie Sedgebeer's children are as follows: Charles Huntington. born 10/08/1881 Ohio and died 9/13/64 in Oakland California; Charles M. born 1879 Tennessee and died 7/27/1881 Kansas (two years of age); Joseph Mortimer born April of 1884 in Missouri; Laura Josephine born 11/24/1895 in Missouri and died 05/09/1990 in California. A 1920 U.S. census has seventy year old Nellie living with her granddaughter Laura Hogan (24) of Missouri in Alameda, California.
