Annie Elizabeth Nicholson, (Twin to Margaret Agnes)

Annie Elizabeth Brown was raised in a large family of twelve children. Her father was Ralph Brown born 19 Jul 1858,Victoria Place,Hartlepool,Co. Durham, England, He died 10 Apr 1937 in Stockton-on-Tees, Co. Durham. He married Ellen Lindsay 19 Nov 1884 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in West Hartlepool,Co. Durham. Ellen was born 29 Aug 1859 in West Hartlepool, and died 10 Mar 1935 in Stockton-on-Tees,Co. Durham.

She was known as Lizzie, and loved to be with her siblings.She was a twin to Margaret Agnes. They looked very different, Lizzie was short, blue eyes and fair hair and skin (like their father), Agnes was taller, dark hair, very dark eyes,(like their mother).They were also very different in temperament, Agnes was quiet and somber, yet Lizzie was always very social and would whistle and sing while she worked. She loved to make soups and stews from scratch.Split pea soup with some ham in it, and Irish stew were two of her favorites.

The family were Jack,Mary,Ralph,Agnes(thenLizzie),Nellie,Jessie,Bill,Fred,Harry,Nora,and Anthony(he died as a baby).
