ANTHONY FLOYER OF BERNE
Anthony Floyer was scion of a prominent Devonshire family, born in 1593 and christened September 30, 1593 in Puddletown, Devonshire. As an adult, Anthony Floyer sold the manor of Floyer Hayes to Henry Gould of Lew Trenchard on November 28, 1606. Anthony Floyer purchased Berne House sometime between 1616 and 1626............Anthony Floyer married a daughter of noted Devonshire antiquarian Sir William de la Pole and together they parented a total of eleven children. Anthony Floyer passed away late October or early November of 1671 and was interred at Whitchurch Canonicorum, Devon on November 2, 1671. Anthony Floyer's will was "proved" on October 11, 1672.
