Fond du Lac Daily Commonwealth, Wed. Feb. 11, 1925, p. 14:5. ANTON KNAUS DEAD, PIONEER AT MT. CALVARY. Was Born and Raised in County. FUNERAL SET FOR FRIDAY. Anton Knaus, an old and highly respected resident of Mt. Calvary, died at 6 o'clock Tuesday morning. He had been ill for the past three weeks and his death was due to Bright's disease. Mr. Knaus had been a resident of the town of Marshfield all his life. After leaving his farm in Johnsburg twenty years ago he settled in the village of Mt. Calvary, where he has resided ever since. He was a member of the Sacred Heart society. Besides his widow Mr. Knaus leaves one brother, Peter, of Johnsburg; and five sisters, Mrs. Christ Casper and Mrs. Peter Karls of Johnsubrg; Mrs. S. Goeser of St. Joe, Mrs. J. LeFeber of St. Cloud, and Helen Knaus of Fond du Lac. The funeral will be held at 9:30 Friday morning from the residence and at 10 o'clock from Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Calvary, who died Tuesday, was held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the residence and at 10 from Holy Cross Church, Mt. Calvary. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. The crossbearer was Nicholas Weber, while Ben Bittner, Jacob Abler, Fred Bleuel, Joseph Thuermer, E. Blonigen and Joseph Stollenberg served as pallbearers. The funeral was one of the largest held at Mt. Calvary in several months.
