About Anton Tripković
Tripković Palace was built in the late 18th century, as one of most stately baroque ship- masters’ mansions of the Boka Kotorska Bay. In 18th century family Tripković played an important part in the development of Dobrota in the field of trade, development of merchant fleet, construction and cultural development. They had 18 vessels, and during the 18th and 19th century 86 seamen from this family were recorded of which 63 masters.
The palace is withdrawn from the shore and raised on a plateau, retained by the stone parapet with long balustrade, and contains a garden, too. In the parapet there is a portal with family heraldic insignia. In front of the Palace there is a landing place -jetty with a spacious mole enclosed boat-port that used to belong to the Palace. Behind the Palace are terraced gardens. The Palace is built of fine trimmed stone from Korčula Island, it contains a vault, two floors and a fourth level suited to be a belvedere, with a baroque shaped gable. The very top of the belvedere bears a tower shaped decoration. The facade is dominated by a balcony on the second floor, whose supporting consoles are covered with ornaments with acanthus leaf motif.
