19 April 1572: Contract between Robert, Lord Boyd, with the consent of Thomas, Master of Boyd, his son, on the one part and ARCHIBALD BOYD, SON AND APPARENT HEIR TO ROBERT BOYD OF PORTINCROSS, on the other part, whereby the said Archibald becomes bound to obtain himself infeft in the 10 mark lands of Portincross and Ardneil and being so infeft to resign the same in the King's or Regent's hands, in favour of the said Robert, Lord Boyd, who, in turn, binds himself to infeft the said Archibald in the said lands.
