ARCHIBALD REID
Archibald Reid, here treated, is the sixth son of William Reid, farmer, and his wife, Margaret King. According to the Reid family historian, he: "was born at Cunningar farm, Dalzell, in 1832" and "died at Oswald Street, Glasgow, on 27th October 1891". He is buried in the family burial ground in the Bent Cemetery. "He married Elizabeth Adams, daughter of Ord Adams, coal owner, of Avonbridge, and Hill of Beath, Dunfermline, and had four sons and three daughters".
