ARDELLA (MRS. FRED) FROEHLICH

Ardella (Mrs. Fred “Fritz”) Froehlich, 90, of Nicollet died Friday. January 10, 2003 at her home. Funeral service was Monday, January 13, 2003 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery, rural Nicollet.

Ardella is survived by husband Fred “Fritz” Froehlich of Nicollet; daughter and son-in-law Sonja and Jim Shay of Nicollet; son and daughter-in-law Fred L. and Dianne Froehlich of Nicollet; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Lorenz Froehlich, daughter Joanne Froehlich, grandsons Jamie and Nathan Shay: a sister, and a brother.

Ardella was born July 5, 1912 in Truman to Louts and Clara (Bode) Dahms. She attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran School in Nicollet and graduated from Nicollet High School. She attended Dr. Martin Luther College (DMLC) in New Ulm. After college she taught school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and then at Trinity Lutheran School in Nicollet. She married Fred “Fritz” Froehlich October 3, 1941 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. She worked in the Brett's Drapery Department in Mankato for several years before starting work with her husband at Froehlich Jewelry Store in Nicollet. She worked there until retirement in 1990. Ardella was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and a member of the Ladies Guild at church.
