About Arnold Hamblin

Arnold "Jack" Hamblin, 91, Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, December 4th at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Beech Grove. The son of the late Green and Haley (Milam) Hamblin. Jack was born October 16, 1916 in Krypton, Kentucky; He married Madge (Sutton) Ferguson Hamblin, who preceded him in death January 24, 1983.

He is survived by a step-daughter Betty Jo Hemphill of Okmulgee, OK, step-son and spouse Karl and Ruth Ferguson, of Mooresville, step-daughter in law, Barbara Ferguson – South of San Francisco, CA, seven grandchildren, Ron Hemphill, Don II, Dennis, Dan and Sue Ferguson, Debby Perkins and Joy Poitevent, fifteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a step-son Don Ferguson, grandsons; Tim and Danny Ferguson, great-great grandson Don Ferguson III, three brothers, Boyd, Herbert and Morris Hamblin, five sisters: Phrona Howard, Plina Stidham, Zola Howard Woods, Ophia Hamblin and Ruth Howard and step-son-in-law Robert Hemphill.

Arnold was a supervisor at Diamond Chain in Indianapolis for 36 years. He retired in January 1977. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Army from May 13, 1942 thru October 2, 1945. He loved gardening, the outdoors, children and visiting with friends and relatives.
