Arter Story

Arter was the son of Archibald Story (1781 - 1865) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Flowers. He was the fifth child out of nine. Arter was born in Overton, Tennessee. He is listed on the 1850 Census as a farmer. I also have a story which states he was an Doctor and made his own medicines out of herbs. Around 1840, Arter married his first wife Eleanor "Ellen" Graham and they had nine children. Arter is listed on the 1900 Census with a new wife Lucinda Jane Mullins and they were the residence of Pickett, Tennessee. He died is 1917 and is burred in the Story Cemetery in Pickett, Tennessee. Arter lived to be 104 Arter Story had the following children: Martha 1844 Ike Hensley Roland J 1846 Amanda Huddleston Tilda 1848 George Hensley Malvena Henry T 1852 Cynthia J Beaty #55820669 John 1854 Irene Wells Mary 1854 Martin stailey Sarah 1858 Josh Jones Claude died in infancy
