About Arthur Harold James Midson
Bank Manager and Deputy-Chairman of South Brisbane Hospital Board.
Wanted to join family building contracting business (Arthur Midson & Son) when left school, but took job in Queensland National Bank as Great Depression made building and engineering professions insecure.
He was a very loving and caring man and was Involved in numerous major charitable projects, mainly through the Lions Club.
His father, Arthur Mackenzie Midson (Mack) was a civil engineer and also heavily involved in charity works.
He was an all-round sportsman when young and kept up his fitness into his later years - until his illnesses.
He almost died, but miraculously survived tuberculosis in the Forties (TB basically a death sentence in the Forties).
