Arthur Leighton Guptill, Jr

Grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Poly Prep School before accepting a place at Colgate University (1938-1942); degree in English Language and Literature. Graduating class finished early so students could join up to serve in World War II following bombing of Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.
