WESTMINSTER -- Arthur T. Mattson, 92, of Westminster, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at his residence. His wife, Fernande E. (Marien) Mattson, died in January 1985. Mr. Mattson was born in Fitchburg, May 12, 1919, a son of Arthur T. and Ida (Longsjo) Mattson and resided most of his life in Westminster. He grew up in Fitchburg and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. During WWII, he served his country in the the United States Army attaining the rank of corporal. For over 20 years, he worked as a papermaker at the Weyerhouser and James River Paper Companies, both in Fitchburg. He was a member of the Papermaker Union Local #1355. He retired in 1981. He was avid golfer and was a longtime member of Westminster Country Club, Westminster. He leaves a daughter, Katherine E. Racine of Lunenburg; five grandchildren, Lisa Gonsalves, Albert Gonsalves and his wife, Michelle, Tina (Gonsalves) Keohane and her husband, Kevin, all of Lunenburg, Patricia (Gonsalves) Deane and her husband, Daniel of Leominster, and Nancy Gonsalves of Lunenburg; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great -grandchild. He was the brother of the late Elsie Harju of Townsend. MATTSON -- Funeral arrangements are at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Louis M.
