About Asahel North
Born in Farmington, CT, he married in Windsor, VT. In 1819 they loaded their belongings into two horse wagons and left the Swallow homestead in Vermont and headed west. They settled in 1821 in Greene Co. Ill in 1821, but just before their arrival a log house they had purchased burned to the ground. They rebuilt, and the family prospered.
