About Audrey Ann VanBrocklin
Audrey Ann (Naughton) VanBrocklin, 75, of Bristol, wife of Owen VanBrocklin, died on Thursday (June 28, 2012) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford. Audrey was born Oct. 13, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY and was the oldest of three children of the late Gustav and Henrietta (Hoerschelmann) Naughton. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a Mathematics teacher at Island Trees Junior High School in New York and later at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford. She was an active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Bristol serving her church as a confirmation class teacher and a member of several committees. Audrey did volunteer work at St. Anthony School Library, the Bargain Box of the Women's Service Organization, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and was elected RSVP's Volunteer of the Year in 2007. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, embroidery, and traveling - particularly to Sanibel Island, FL where she and her husband enjoyed the winter months for the past several years. In addition to her husband, Audrey is survived by two sons and their families, Henry and Linda VanBrocklin, Eric and Seth, of Walnut Creek, CA, and Kevin and Tanya VanBrocklin, Garrett and Mitchell of Harlan, IN; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry "Hank" and Eleanor Naughton of Cedar Knolls, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister and Hank's twin, Diane Schneider
