About August P. Peplinski, Jr.

August Pepelinski (33yrs), Henriette (31yrs), Johann (9yrs), August (6yrs), Martha (4yrs) & Franziska (1yr) arrived in New York on 3 April, 1875 from Bremen / Southampton aboard the ship "Neckar".

August P. Peplinski, age 80, 533 Dixon Street, died at his home at 4:20 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. He had been in ailing health since last Dec. 4 when he suffered serious burns at his farm in the town of Stockton in a gasoline explosion and fire after he filled the tank of a gasoline engine. He was a patient at St. Michael's hospital for five weeks following the accident.

Mr. Peplinski was born in Poland Dec. 11, 1865. At the age of seven years he came to this country with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. August Peplinski, who located in New York state. The family came to Portage County in 1892 and settled at the present Peplinski farm in Stockton. Mr. Peplinski resided in Stockton until last April, when he moved to Stevens Point, except from 1932 to 1937 when lived in Stevens Point.

He married Clara Kirschling of Stockton at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Polonia Nov. 13, 1894. Surviving are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Ben Hintz of Plover, Mrs. Lucille Hintz of Stevens Point, Mrs. Gladys Lorbecke of Milwaukee, Alex and Clarence Peplinski of Amherst, Leo of Stockton and Clifton of Stevens Point. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Martha Preston of Stevens Point and Mrs. Frances Steele of Rome, N.Y., and one brother Alex Peplinski of St. Louis, Mo., and 28 grandchildren. One son, one sister and three brothers, in addition to his parents, preceded him in death.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with burial following in Guardian Angel Cemetery. The body is at the Crosby funeral home where the rosary will be said this evening, Thursday and Friday evenings at 8 o'clock.
