בבית היו מספרים: אבי הסבא פרץ, אברהם שמו, חסיד היה. פעם באחת מ"שמחות - התורה" כפור עז היה. החסידים פתחו חור בקרח הנהר ועשו טבילה. התקרר, חלה בדלקת ריאות, מת והשאיר אחריו יתום, פרץ בן השנתיים.
