About Baroness Sysonby, Victoria Lily Hegan Ponsonby
Victoria Lily 'Ria' Hegan Kennard [1874-1955], daughter of Colonel Edmund Hegan Kennard, married in 1899, Frederick 'Fritz' Ponsonby, 1st Baron Sysonby. She became well known in the 1930s for writing 'Lady Sysonby's Cook Book', the culmination of a life long interest in cookery, but also as a means of making some income, as the Ponsonbys were notoriously hard up.
