Bartholomew resided on his father's 20-acre lot. He was a farmer.

Savage notes that Samuel and several siblings were all christened "16 March 1684, unless 15 March 1685 be better."

He and his brother Eleazer were soldiers in the company of Capt. John Gorham in King Phillip's war in 1675 and they both were granted land in the Narragansett grants in Maine, years after their death. The battle was fought 10 December 1675 at South Kingston RI on an island of about five acres in a swamp called Pattyswamscott, where the Indians had a fortified town. The white colonists mustered 1,126 men, six companies from Massachusetts Bay, two from Plymouth, and five from Connecticut. The battle lasted six hours and their were heavy losses, but the power of the Narragansetts was broken. It does not appear that any of their descendants settled on the lands in Maine, so the shares were probably sold.

Bartholomew was mentioned in his father's will dated 23 January 1683.

He died 24 April 1704, aged 62 years and 14 days, leaving an estate apprised at L309, 6s, 8d. Andrews says he left widow Susannah and children Mercy, Patience, Susanna and Experience. Otis says the estate was divided by an agreement dated 31 May 1704, his widow receiving one-third, each daughter L15, and the balance to his sons.
