About Benjamin Adair
Migrated from Highland Co., Ohio, to Cass County, Indiana, in 1830, one of the earliest settlers in that region. He lived on a farm called Casa Loma and founded 2 Presbyterian churches in the Noble Township area. He left Cass County in 1857 and drove a prairie schooner with 3 teams of horses to Johnson County, Kansas, and settled in the town of Olathe with his wife Anna, his daughters Julia and Eliza Jane, and his sons Thomas and Benjamin Franklin. His daughter Lucinda also comes out to Kansas after the death of her husband, around 1860, bringing her young daughter Lulu. He came to vote for Kansas becoming a Free State and was, probably, a strong abolitionist.
