About Benjamin Adams
According to "Families of Ancient Wethersfield, CT", Benjamin is probably a son of William Adams of Farmington, CT, who died July 18, 1655, leaving a widow Elizabeth and 2 children, a son Benjamin, age 6 and a daugher, Elizabeth, age 3. This William Adams who was probably the father of Benjamin came to Hartford from Mass in 1640, moved to Farmington where he as an early settler; married Elizabeth widow of William Heacock.
Same books says that on January 20, 1676 when he was presumably a resident of Hartford, he testified under oath with Samuel Williams that they served under Capt. John Edwards of Wethersfield in the recent (1675) war against the Indians.
Benjamins parents are also listed as William and Elizabeth on http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tomtowle/d0013/g0...
