Mr. & Mrs. Eldon Gundry made an interesting visit to New York State this summer. Mr. Gundry found some needed records in Madison County. Then they went on to Washington County to the village of Middle Granville. In the cemetery there lie Mrs. Gundry's great-great-great-great grandparents. since the gravestones were in bad condition, the Gundry's had a new marker erected with this data inscribed:
"Benjamin Baker, born July 11, 1720 in Canterbury, Connecticut; died November 4, 1798 in Granville, NY. son of William and Rebecca (Backus) Baker. Wife Jerusha Parish, born June 30, 1722, Preston, Connecticut, died April 6, 1799, Granville, N.Y., daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Tracy) Parish."
Mary Parish was descended from Lieut. Thomas Tracy of Norwich, Conn., whose lineage has been traced back to Egbert, first king of England (802-839). +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Plainfield, Conn., Prob.
